Copyright & takedowns
Respect for intellectual property
Linkshortner responds to sufficiently detailed reports of copyright infringement and other unlawful linked content. We may disable a short link while reviewing a report. Disabling a short link does not remove content hosted by an external website.
Submit a notice
Email support@linkshortner.org with the subject Copyright notice or use the abuse-report form. Include:
- Your name and reliable contact information.
- A description of the copyrighted work or rights you claim.
- The exact short URL and, if known, the destination URL at issue.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf, under the declarations required by applicable law.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Do not submit knowingly false notices. We may request additional information and may share relevant parts of a report with the account holder to investigate, subject to privacy and legal requirements.
Responses and counter-notices
If a link associated with your account was restricted in error, contact us with the affected short URL, your explanation, supporting rights or permissions, and your contact details. Where a statutory counter-notice process applies, we will explain the applicable requirements. Restoration depends on the evidence and applicable law.
Repeat infringement
We may restrict or close accounts with repeated substantiated infringement, taking the facts, appeals, and legal requirements into account.
